Urban Agriculture Camp

It's been far too long my friends.  You know, it seems like every time I commit to posting once a week, life happens and I get so wrapped up in living/experiencing that I forget to bring my camera and/or post about it!  I hope to get some consistency eventually, but for now I apologize and I hope you can forgive me.

Last week I had the amazing opportunity to learn about Urban Agriculture during a camp that was supported by Triton College and The Sugar Beet Co-op!  Below are just a few pictures of all the different places we got to explore and learn about within the realm of growing organic and sustainable food in places around Chicago!  Below each picture is a link to that location's website if you'd like to learn more or visit them yourself.  Also, definitely let me know if you have visited or plan to visit these places!!

Oh!  And, I'm only 3 subscribers away from reaching my first goal!  So, if you like learning about nutrition, yoga, and fitness subscribe to this blog!

Marvelous Monday

No "Case of the Monday's" here folks!  I am so excited to share last week's workouts and weekend fun with you.  Are you ready?!

Workouts:

  • 2 days of kickboxing class (45 min each)
  • 3 60 min yoga sessions (60 min each)
  • 2 days of non stop walking/playing/having fun/acro yoga!!!!
Friday and Sunday were the non-stop activity days.  On Friday, we played soccer with an 8 and 10 year old for nearly an hour and a half.  Then, we walked back home just to eat a snack and head back out.  That night, we went to a friend's house to see fireworks.  To get to the fireworks, we walked in a big group 2 miles (then of course 2 miles to get back home as well).  While we waited for 9:30 to come, I was doing some acro yoga with the same 2 kids as before for nearly 2 hours (or at least it felt that way!)  For only weighing between 50-70 lb each, my legs were getting tired after flipping and balancing them!

Saturday was more of a rest day and we got to get some writing in of our books (yes, I am writing another book!!  This time, it will be for adults and is a combination of historical fiction and sci-fi!)

Then, on Sunday, we went to the Bristol Renaissance Faire!! More on that later, though...I have some pictures :)

Luana Ola!  Enjoy Life!!
