Hi friends!
This weekend was so full of fun, I don't even know where to begin. Well...I'll begin with apologizing for no pictures in this post...I left my camera (with the SD card in it) at my grandparents' house, which is about an hour away. I really wanted to share this weekend with you guys though, so I promise I will have a follow up post with all the pictures.
Ok then, let's start with Friday shall we?
Since it is summer, Andrew got off work early and I have no internship on Fridays! So, we packed everything into the car for the weekend and left for Green Bay, WI. The whole point of this trip was to be at my friend's wedding! But, since we had to drive about 4 hours away, we decided to go early and make a little vacation out of it.
We got to Green Bay at around 6pm, checked in to our hotel at went to Titletown Brewery for dinner. Andrew loves trying different beers, and this location was an old Railroad station that the brewery turned into a restaurant/brewery.
After dinner, we walked around for a while, but it got surprisingly cold really fast...thanks Wisconsin! :)
Saturday morning, we were up bright and early with the sun. Luckily, we brought plenty of bananas for breakfast since there weren't any veg-friendly options near by! Then, we got to the Conservatory right when it opened at 8am. It was perfect! We were the only ones there for awhile, so we got to play in the kiddy area (who are we kidding...we're all kids at heart!!): sliding down the slide, acting like a baby bee, putting on a turtle shell. So fun!
We then walked over to see the real animals. We saw a baby raccoon being fed, birds of all sizes, a cougar, bobcat, skunk, and the two best animals there: wolves and river otters!! We actually got to see the wolves be let out in the morning and fed, while the otters were actually playing with us through the glass. They would swim by, tap the glass with their paw and follow us back and forth! It was so cute! Although these animals were contained, they were all rescued and they all looked like they were being well taken care of.
We made it to the wedding ceremony by 1 pm. It was lovely, and I even ran into some of my old friends from college! After the ceremony, we went on a brewery tour with some friends, and then headed to the reception.
Lots of country music was played and we danced the night away! I'm so happy for my friend and that she found someone who can love her as much as she loves him and the rest of the world! Seriously, she is so caring and genuinely happy all the time! Love her!
I'll be posting pictures soon!!
Luana ola!
